The FROH is a Digital Distributed Intelligence wireless dual optical smoke and thermal Multi-Criteria detector. It is the next generation in wireless smoke detector technology and utilises dual optical smoke detection technologies for obscuration and particle analysis. Sophisticated algorithms utilise information from the thermal and dual optical channels to ensure a high level of false alarm rejection without compromising genuine alarm sensing performance. The device also uses ‘Drift Compensation’ enabling it to adjust its sensitivity due to contamination. When the device reaches 80% of its adjustment it will send a maintenance alarm to the CIE indicating that the device will need cleaning. A magnet test facility is also included. The enhanced design of the smoke inlet and optical chamber guarantees a very high resistance to the entry of dust, further ensuring a higher level of false alarm rejection without compromising sensing performance.

With a unique approach to programming and configuration software, the detectors are learnt into the system and addressed by simply holding the device’s QR code near the camera on your laptop, it then appears on the screen and is ready for programming. Powered by 2 CR123A batteries (1 primary and 1 secondary) the device has an impressive 10-year battery lifespan. Once the primary battery has reached the end of its life a maintenance warning is sent to the CIE and the secondary battery continues to power the detector for typically 3 months. This detector is characterised by an aesthetically pleasing low profile and is specifically designed for the Fusion DDI protocol.
